Siemens, Humanoid, and NVIDIA have tested the HMND 01 Alpha humanoid robot at Siemens’ electronics manufacturing facility in Erlangen, Germany, marking a step toward deploying physical AI in industrial operations. The wheeled humanoid robot autonomously carried out logistics tasks such as picking, transporting, and placing totes on conveyors within a live factory environment.
Built using NVIDIA’s physical AI stack, the system was trained and validated through simulation-based workflows before deployment. Siemens stated that its Xcelerator platform supported integration of the humanoid into factory automation systems and workflows. The collaboration forms part of the Siemens–NVIDIA initiative to develop AI-driven and adaptive manufacturing environments using robotics, simulation, and industrial automation technologies.
