PTC has announced a new robotics design-to-simulation workflow that connects its cloud-based CAD platform, Onshape, with NVIDIA Isaac Sim, a physics-based robotics simulation tool. Unveiled at NVIDIA GTC 2026, the integration aims to eliminate the manual steps typically involved in moving a robot design from CAD to simulation. When engineers update a design in Onshape, the simulation in Isaac Sim reflects those changes automatically, maintaining a single source of truth. Built on AWS, the workflow also aims to support AI-based robot training via NVIDIA Isaac Lab. FANUC America Corporation, which designs industrial robotic systems, is among the early adopters of this workflow, aiming to bring simulation earlier into its design and evaluation process for improved project outcomes.
