Canada-based façade engineering company STEKAR has adopted Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform on the cloud to support the design and delivery of sustainable building façades. The company applied the platform while working on a cultural hub project for Mouvement d’implication francophone d’Orléans (MIFO) in Ottawa, which targeted high energy efficiency and net-zero-carbon objectives.
STEKAR shifted from largely manual 2D workflows to an integrated 3D design and simulation environment using CATIA and ENOVIA applications. The approach aims to improve coordination between architects, engineers and fabricators while reducing inconsistencies in façade assemblies and fabrication drawings through digital simulation before manufacturing. The company is also preparing to connect engineering and manufacturing processes through digital workflows for future projects.
