The latest release of Simcenter STAR-CCM+ 2602 introduces updates focused on expanding GPU-native multiphase CFD capabilities. The release adds GPU support for the Volume of Fluid (VOF) and Mixture Multiphase (MMP) solvers, aiming to broaden the range of multiphase simulations that can run on GPU architectures. The update also introduces modeling capabilities for phase-change phenomena such as boiling, evaporation and cavitation, along with surface-tension effects. Additional numerical developments include implicit multi-step acceleration methods and improvements for large-scale interface simulations through Mixture Multiphase – Large Scale Interface (MMP-LSI). These updates aim to support the simulation of complex multiphase flows involving interacting fluids and dynamic interfaces within engineering analysis workflows.
