Synopsys has introduced an Electronics Digital Twin (eDT) Platform to support virtual modeling of electronic systems, combining hardware and embedded software across multiple abstraction levels. The platform aims to provide a cloud-ready, open infrastructure where companies can build and manage eDT Labs with integrated tools, models, and compute resources.
It supports use cases such as early System on Chip (SoC) evaluation, pre-hardware software development, collaborative engineering, and system validation. With a modular architecture, integration APIs, and flexible deployment options such as SaaS or bring-your-own-cloud (BYOC), the platform is designed as a scalable infrastructure for building and managing electronics digital twins.
It is initially targeted at the automotive sector, where it aims to support early software development, virtual validation, and scalable testing ahead of physical hardware availability. The platform is intended to address increasing system complexity while enabling controlled collaboration across OEMs, suppliers, and ecosystem partners, with potential expansion into other industries over time.
