Mission Drishti, launched by Bengaluru-based startup GalaxEye on May 3, 2026 aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket, marks an important moment for India’s private space industry. The satellite is being described as the world’s first “OptoSAR” mission as it combines Electro-Optical (EO) and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) sensors on a single platform. This allows it to capture images in cloudy weather and even during nighttime conditions.

Weighing 190 kg, Mission Drishti is also India’s largest privately developed Earth observation satellite. Developed over more than five years, the project reflects how Indian startups are increasingly building advanced space technologies that were once limited largely to government agencies.

The satellite is expected to support applications across agriculture, disaster management, defence, maritime monitoring, and infrastructure planning. GalaxEye has partnered with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), ISRO’s commercial arm, for the global distribution of the satellite’s imagery. Initial data from the mission is expected to be released in the coming weeks, while the company plans to gradually expand Mission Drishti into a larger satellite constellation over the next few years.

Who they are

What if cities could simulate their future before building it?
Fluidit is making that vision possible through simulation.
Fluidit is a Finland-based simulation technology company focused on helping utilities and cities make smarter decisions about critical infrastructure.
Working closely with utilities, consultants, and city planners, Fluidit brings simulation-driven decision-making into everyday operations making complex infrastructure systems more predictable, efficient, and resilient.

Solutions & Technology

Fluidit goes beyond traditional analytics. Its core lies in physics-based digital twins models that don’t just visualize systems but actually behave like them.
Whether it’s water flowing through pipelines or heat moving across a district network, Fluidit’s simulations replicate real-world physics. This allows engineers to explore “what-if” scenarios and optimize performance before making real-world changes. The platform spans water, wastewater, stormwater, and district energy systems, connecting planning with real-time operations.

Applications:

From preventing urban floods to optimizing heating networks, Fluidit’s technology is quietly shaping how cities function.
Utilities use it to improve water distribution efficiency, manage stormwater and flood risks, and design sustainable energy networks. It is also increasingly used to build city-scale digital twins, supporting long-term planning and resilience.

Did you know?
Fluidit’s simulation approach is rooted in advanced hydraulic modeling, enabling it to predict system behavior even under conditions that haven’t yet occurred.
Fluidit’s physics-based digital twins are trusted by utilities like Fortum and Helsinki Region Environmental Services (HSY), enabling them to simulate and optimize infrastructure before changes are made on the ground.”

Imagine walking into a modern open-plan office — bright, collaborative, and buzzing with activity. But beneath that energy lies a persistent challenge: noise.

Open-plan layouts, while visually appealing and space-efficient, often struggle with uncontrolled sound propagation and elevated noise levels, a growing concern for engineers in the architecture, engineering, and construction industries. Traditional trial-and-error approaches during physical construction are neither practical nor cost-effective when it comes to acoustic optimization.

This is where simulation steps in. As detailed by Mackenzie McCarty on the COMSOL Blog, COMSOL Multiphysics® aims to tackle this problem through its Acoustics of an Open-Plan Office Space tutorial model — analyzing sound behavior digitally before a single wall goes up. The model uses a wave-based, time-domain approach, incorporating:

  • Frequency-dependent impedance conditions for surfaces like carpet, ceiling, and gypsum wall boards
  • Partial Fraction Fit function to translate frequency-domain impedance data into the time domain
  • Absorbing layers to replicate the acoustic behavior of an open window

Microphone points placed throughout the virtual office capture impulse responses and level decay curves across octave bands, enabling accurate computation of reverberation time using a full-wave method. With multi-GPU support introduced in version 6.4, COMSOL Multiphysics® aims to reduce simulation time compared to standard CPU processing making acoustic design more feasible to explore early in the planning process.
