Siemens has introduced the Questa One Agentic AI Toolkit, extending its Questa One verification platform to incorporate agentic artificial intelligence into the integrated circuit (IC) design and verification workflow. Developed in collaboration with NVIDIA and leveraging Llama Nemotron models, the toolkit is intended to address the engineering productivity gap associated with the increasing complexity of semiconductor development.
The system introduces specialized AI agents—including RTL Code, Lint, Verification Planning, Debug, and CDC agents—designed to reason, plan, and execute multi-step tasks within electronic design automation (EDA) environments. Built with a framework-agnostic architecture, the toolkit is designed to integrate with third-party AI tools and development environments while maintaining governance boundaries that allow human oversight during activities such as debugging, root-cause analysis, and code generation. The approach is intended to support verification workflows for advanced semiconductor architectures, including chiplet-based and 3D integrated circuit designs.
