PrePoMax New Version 2.5.0 Released

PrePoMax, developed by researchers at the University of Maribor, is an open-source engineering simulation tool designed as a pre- and post-processor for the CalculiX finite element analysis (FEA) solver. The software provides a graphical interface that helps engineers prepare simulation models, generate meshes, and visualize analysis results.

The project recently released version 2.5.0, focusing on platform stability and workflow refinements.

Key updates include:

  • Geometry & Mesh: Support for splitting periodic CAD surfaces and new part defeaturing tools.
  • Physics & Selection: Integration of initial angular velocity and improved zoom support during rubber-band selection.
  • Workflow: A new command history feature for saving and reorganizing simulation steps.

This release aims to improve the user experience while bridging the gap between open-source solvers and professional-grade usability.
