nTop and CoreWeave Demonstrate NASA’s CFD Vision Is Within Reach

In 2015, NASA set a goal CFD Vision 2030: engineers should be able to set up, run, and interpret a large group of related simulations within a single day, with minimal manual intervention.

nTop, an engineering design software company, built a parametric drone wing model using a mathematical geometry approach designed to avoid the failures common in traditional CAD tools. Its solver worked directly on this geometry, skipping the manual mesh-repair step usually required between simulations. CoreWeave provided the Nvidia GPU cloud computing power to run these simulations continuously without supervision. Together, they aim to show that this kind of large-scale, self-managed simulation is achievable ahead of NASA‘s original timeline, with potential use in other engineering fields beyond aerospace.
