Green Aerospace, a Montreal-based startup, is working on the GR70 — a hybrid-electric regional jet built to serve the majority of US regional routes. Designing a new aircraft from scratch with a small team comes with significant challenges, particularly around managing aerodynamics, aerostructures, and propulsion as separate disciplines.
To bridge this gap, Green Aerospace adopted Siemens’ NX, Simcenter STAR-CCM+, and Simcenter 3D, creating a connected digital thread that allows design changes to flow across engineering tools, reducing manual data transfer and rework between disciplines. GPU-accelerated simulation further aims to allow the team to run multiple design iterations daily. Siemens channel partner Maya HTT supported the seamless implementation throughout the process.
