Convergent Science Training: FSI Modeling

This session focuses on the fundamentals and application of fluid-structure interaction (FSI) modeling in CONVERGE, aiming to explore how immersed structures influence fluid flow and how fluid forces affect structural motion. It covers rigid-body FSI, non-rigid 1D beam deformation, FSI theory, dynamics-solver numerics, and solver coupling. Examples include compressor valves, a pressure-relief ball valve, beam deformation, and a wastegate valve, along with coupled simulations using Abaqus for complex deforming bodies. The session requires prior introductory knowledge of CONVERGE. Participants can attend the session online or in person in Pune.
