A blog by Pedro Luta, ESTECO explains how teams are using Keysight’s VA One alongside modeFRONTIER to optimize noise control patches on a vehicle’s body without adding excess weight.
The process begins with structure-borne road noise simulation, followed by sensitivity analysis to identify the most influential design variables. Reduced order models and response surface models are then developed to approximate detailed simulations, and an evolutionary algorithm is used to explore trade-offs between acoustic performance and weight. The workflow is intended to support acoustic design decisions earlier in the vehicle development process.
