Flownex has joined the US National Science Foundation’s Centre for Energy-Smart Electronic Systems (ES2), an Industry–University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC), to collaborate on thermal management challenges in data centres. Flownex brings system-level thermal-fluid simulation expertise, rooted in the nuclear industry, along with controls integration and physics-based digital twin capabilities. Through ES2, the company will collaborate with academic and industry partners on research areas including IT load management, air and liquid cooling, two-phase cooling, waste heat recovery, power distribution, embedded cooling, and data centre energy optimisation. The collaboration aims to advance physics-based, predictive simulation approaches for next-generation, high-density, liquid-cooled data centre infrastructure.
